In Europe, the preparation and publication of lay summaries is mandatory for all clinical trials. This article will explain in detail what a clinical trial lay summary is, its significance, and points to keep in mind when creating it. We will also discuss the differences between lay summaries and plain language summaries that are sometimes created for academic papers and conference presentations.

In response to requests from multiple people who want to hear about "lay summaries," we will be holding a special seminar for YORIAILab members and clinical trial ambassadors (including those who have taken the 4th course and those who have applied for the 5th course) .
