Clinical Trial Ambassador Project

We aim to ensure that patients and the public are properly informed about drug development and clinical trials, and to implement patient and public involvement (PPI) in drug development in a fruitful manner.

This is a social co-creation project to deliver more valuable medical care to those who need it more quickly for patients and citizens.

Clinical Trial Ambassador Training
Starting in 2024, we will be introducing the following :

Participation is being expanded beyond just patient groups to include members of the public who want to deepen their understanding of drug development and clinical trials (excluding those who are professionally engaged in clinical trials).
Clinical trial ambassadors (those who have completed the first and second training sessions) also serve as lecturers and tutors.
The "Mock Clinical Trial Workshop" developed by AstraZeneca is used as part of the core curriculum.

Project Overview

Activities aimed at helping patient groups deepen their understanding of drug development and fostering an environment where it is easier to access clinical trials (participate in clinical trials and exchange opinions about clinical trials).
Patient groups participating in this project will receive training on drug development.
We will work with patient groups, academia, SMOs, and multiple pharmaceutical companies to advance this initiative.

Why Clinical Trial Ambassadors?

It has been reported that many patients have anxiety and fears about clinical trials.
One of the causes of this anxiety and fear is the lack of knowledge about clinical trials among patients.
Raising awareness of clinical trials and providing easy-to-understand information about them are considered to be unmet needs.

Expectations for Clinical Trial Ambassadors

Have thorough and up-to-date knowledge of pharmaceutical development and clinical trials
Ability to communicate constructively and constructively with stakeholders in pharmaceutical development and clinical trials
Able to effectively communicate information and knowledge to unspecified people in patient organizations as a patient representative
Possess the insight, creativity, analytical ability, judgment, and agility to further improve the above aspects.
